My dad and I have come to the terms that the Torino will need new paint soon.
Maybe. It has a bunch of clear coat cracks in the paint we think. It has gotten pretty bad lately. So does anyone know of a good way to either get rid of them or something?
We might just have to repaint it.
If so, what Color?
Black?
Or back to the Factory Red?

Keep it factory red.

I'd vote factory red if you're planning to do the stripe as well. If not, the black.
![]() 01/30/2015 at 00:36 |

Well the stripe is $400 cause it was a special order and it's reflective.

Factory. Red.
![]() 01/30/2015 at 00:37 |

Well it's better then it's actual name which is just Bright Red, color Code 2B.

Wouldn't it cost a metric fuckton more to repaint it another color though? It would definitely be more than $400.

British Racing Green. Always looks good.
If you want to stay Ford colors i would go with grabber blue

This
Oh wait, this!
Though if a $400 stripe is a big deal in your price range for a paint job, i don't think it's a gonna be a great paint job...

Blue
![]() 01/30/2015 at 00:42 |

Keep it red! Black looks fantastic but doesn't do it justice like the red does.

" I see a line of cars and they ' re all painted black ."
I'd vote Black or Silver if it didn't look so damn good the way it is.
I'd recommend going with the Steelies and Dog dishes if you go Black though.
Like these with trim rings.

What color is it now?
If it's the original color, has it been repainted at any point?
What KIND of paint is on the car?
![]() 01/30/2015 at 01:11 |

Go with the original factory color or pick one of ford color's such as grabber blue or a deeper/dark blue.

Like the one in the movie. Green with gold
![]() 01/30/2015 at 01:22 |

Definitely voting for the factory red.

I reject reality and substitute it with my own:

![]() 01/30/2015 at 03:10 |

I don't wanna get a '72 front end though...
![]() 01/30/2015 at 03:11 |

It's the fact we have to order the damn thing.
Also blue is nice but no dice.

Well they need to be totally redone and honestly Mags will be there to stay cause she look good with fat tires in the back.
![]() 01/30/2015 at 03:32 |

I don't think you should.
![]() 01/30/2015 at 03:41 |

![]() 01/30/2015 at 03:49 |

Ya the only option the car was missing was the Mags soooooooooo. it's now got them. with correct center caps.
![]() 01/30/2015 at 07:28 |

Now that's a solid plan!
![]() 01/30/2015 at 09:05 |

Factory Red.
![]() 01/30/2015 at 09:44 |
|
Couldn't you just get the car re-cleared rather than a full re-paint? If the paint under the clear is good why not? it would be a hell of alot cheaper than starting from scratch.
![]() 01/30/2015 at 12:13 |
|
now the hard part is finding another 1973
![]() 01/30/2015 at 12:14 |
|
well we don't know if it is the clear or the paint at this point

I'd redo the factory red, it's such a nice looking car. And is the laser stripe any different than these?
